This study investigates the role of psychological and emotional themes In Gobind Malhi’s perspective of Anguish of Separation. The postcolonial context influence on individual consciousness, emotional and lack of confidence that results as partition and separation. This study use method of research a descriptive approach which analyzed cultural meanings, political values, emotional nature of individual, and lived experiences, and textual pictures. Further study examined personal and collective trauma in the novel which narrative element and symbolic expression of separation. The findings identified separation in Anguish that psychological effects on grief, alienation, and continuous identity. Some text of novel reveal partition trauma and psychological pain set up a continuing practice instead of a singular event. Central part of novel which indicate psychological suffering and identity crises is shaping force of separation. Additionally, post-Partition literature reveals a complex relationship among memory, loss, and emotional experience.
